Scope / Purpose of Role:

An experienced HGV Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. As well as driving trucks and delivering goods, he/she will also be required to oversee the loading and offloading of goods, cleaning and maintaining the truck, finding the best routes, and promoting the Mowi brand. To ensure success, he/she should have a clean driving record, a recent CPC, and a minimum of 3 years' experience. The HGV driver will value honesty, dependability and ensure reliable logistics.

Key Result Areas:

Inspecting, cleaning and refuelling the vehicleSafely transporting goods to and from distribution centresObeying the rules of the road and following company safety regulationsFinding the quickest and safest route to your destinationFollowing accident proceduresAbility to drive long distances while maintaining focusKeep an activities log and log hoursReport mechanical problems to maintenance personnelCarry out vehicle/equipment inspections on at least a daily basis and immediately report any actual or possible defects to your Line ManagerDriving HGV in a responsible manner to meet targets while complying with all current applicable road transport regulations at all timesComply with all legislation and the organisation's requirements concerning the vehicle's Tachograph (Digi or Manual)General activities including safe and legal loading (e.g. not unbalanced/overloaded) and offloading, check all orders, delivery notes and associated documentation and obtain signatures as and when required and report any delivery discrepancies at the time of deliveryImmediately inform Line Manager of any incidents involving you/your vehicle and/or if you are unable to perform tasks on time or at all (accident, traffic delays etc)Assist Line Manager to make improvements and implement required changesEnsure compliance with policies and procedures, codes and legislation, including health and safetyImmediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line ManagerQualifications, Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:

Clean HGV LicenceValid Certificate of Professional Confidence (CPC)Skills: 3+ years' experience as a HGV driverGood communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work without supervisionClean driving LicenseConducting minor roadside repairs on the truckMaintaining a good relationship with customersExperience:Experience with goods handling preferredExperience with GPS navigation and mapping Please note, we retain the right to close this vacancy or keep it open subject to volume and quality of applications.
