This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well-regarded Private Client (Wills Trusts Tax) team in York which is seeking to recruit a Private Client lawyer of 2 or more years' PQE.

The team often acts on complex matters and for high-net-worth individuals, as well as advising farming and business clients in relation to all areas of private client work.

The successful candidate will undertake work involving wills, trusts and estate planning, as well as probate and estate administration.

The trusts work will often involve advising on the setting up and administration of trusts, as well as the structuring arrangements for trustees and beneficiaries with asset protection and tax planning in mind.


Other areas which the department covers are:

  • powers of attorney
  • elderly and vulnerable client matters
  • court of protection and deputyships matters.
Demonstrable experience in administering estates and trusts and preparing wills and powers of attorney is essential.

Exposure to estate, wealth and tax planning would be welcome also, as too would membership of STEP or having a desire to undertake the process to become STEP-accredited.

However, this is not essential for a successful candidate who is ambitious, driven and looking to progress their career to the next level.
