We're looking for a Commercial Solicitor to join our in-house legal team covering the commercial space.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ideally with some previous in-house experience to join a well-respected and high-achieving legal team with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy.

What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include
- Providing all areas of Marks and Spencer plc ( M&S ) with pragmatic and commercially led legal advice on a range of contractual and commercial legal matters
- Negotiating and owning the internal governance for a broad range of M&S's strategic commercial contracts, including supply of goods and services (both for resale and not-for-resale); technology and IT; and product distribution agreements
- Working collaboratively with the rest of the Commercial Legal team on strategic projects for the business, including supporting the Deputy General Counsels and Heads of Commercial Legal
- Working in close partnership with key business units such as Food, Clothing, Home, Marketing, Logistics, Digital & Technology, International and UK Franchise
- Day-to-day management, and supporting on the evolution, of M&S's external Managed Service Provider for commercial contracts
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent commonwealth jurisdiction
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in commercial/contracts law
- A strong sense of commerciality with an ability to forge and develop strong business partnering relationships across the business
- The confidence in advising a variety of partners up to a senior level (e.g. Director level)
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work; and able to prioritise accordingly
