Who we are looking for

Apprentice Compliance Associate, specializing in Financial Crimes Compliance.

This 18 month apprenticeship provides on the job training and experience of working in a financial services firm and is suitable for individuals looking for their first step into a career in financial crime compliance and/or corporate compliance.

Why this role is important to us

This role will assist the Financial Crime Compliance ("FCC") and UK Corporate Compliance ("UK CC") teams in carrying out their daily tasks in the discharge of regulatory responsibilities and the execution of the Bank's Financial Crime Compliance and UK Corporate Compliance programs.

This apprenticeship program will be in partnership with Fitch Learning under the 'Level 3 Compliance/ Risk Officer' apprentice profile, where you will also gain a professional qualification.

Working with State Street's Compliance Officers in the UK, the candidate will gain knowledge and experience of how a global financial services firm operating in the UK establishes and maintains risk-based policies, procedures, systems and controls to comply with its regulatory obligations and prevent and detect financial crime.

In the role you will be responsible for:

  • The Three Lines of Defense operating model;
  • Monitoring for, analyzing the impact of and implementing procedures and controls in response to regulatory / legal developments; assessing financial crime risks;
  • "know your customer" due diligence measures;
  • Investigating and reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement;
  • Interacting with regulatory authorities;
  • Design and delivery of financial crime compliance training for employees;
  • Reporting financial crime risks and issues to senior management;
  • Implementing and testing internal systems and controls (in particular in those systems / controls designed to combat financial crime).
