MUSIC TUTOR (Clarinet and Saxophone)

Salary: £25.95 per hour plus paid annual leave entitlement

Hours: Dependent on student numbers, term time only (36 weeks per year).

Start Date: 01 September 2024

Required for September 2024, we are looking to recruit a Music Tutor of Clarinet and Saxophone (alto and tenor).

Each year students sign up for a whole year of 30-minute lessons, with an option for those in exam years (11 & 13) to finish their lessons at the beginning of study leave in May. This means that the teacher knows at the beginning of the year how much teaching they will have, and how much they will be paid, for the whole year.

The hours will be dependent on the number of students wishing to study on the clarinet or saxophone. In 2023/24 there are 5 hours of teaching (4 after study leave) on either clarinet, alto or tenor saxophone per week.

The Music School was purpose-built in 2001 and provides an outstanding level of accommodation for the department. It has a large rehearsal room which doubles as a recital hall (seating 200) and a classroom. There is also a second, full-size classroom, a recording studio, kitchen and store room on the ground floor. On the second floor is a large office, two store rooms and five practice rooms.
