Location: Hybrid and flexible working, at Aldermaston RG7 4PR with attendance required on site 1 day per week and for ad hoc events.

Salary range starts at: £36,160, we will negotiate upwards if you have the skills we need.

We are looking for someone who is proactive in their approach, understands what makes a good story that connects with different audiences and knows how best to reach them. So, great planning and copywriting skills are a must in this role.

If you're a social media native, with an innate understanding of the digital landscape and trending topics, this could be the role for you. You'll need a collegiate approach and ability to bring multiple strands from across the business and wider together to tell the extraordinary story of AWE Nuclear Security Technologies within our recently revitalised brand.

A typical day for a Communications Specialist could look like this:
Planning, developing, and evaluating communications activityBringing our unique story to life and supporting our company missionPartnering with colleagues in the wider Comms function as well as throughout the business, to help create effective communications through our multiple channelsUsing your excellent copywriting skills to convey difficult messages in a simple manner, but with an eye for the detailProactively seeking out stories and case studies, and generating fantastic content, that's always authentic to our brand and mission, using packages like Canva Pro or Adobe Photoshop Managing, monitoring and optimising content through our social media accounts and website ( experience using CMS such as WordPress desirable) Working with our internal and external studios to get the best resultsUsing insight to get a clear picture of your audiences that help you tailor assets in any media and maximise their impact
