King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Mathematics teacher to join an exceptional department. This role is being advertised as full-time but a part-time appointment will be considered for a suitable candidate. This post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for an Early Career Teacher.

Mathematics is popular and successful from Key Stage 3 through to our thriving, successful Sixth Form. With 83% of grades at 9-4, 66% of grades at 9-5 and 32% of grades at 9-7 in GCSE Mathematics in 2023, you will be joining a high-performing, collaborative department. The appointed teacher will also have the opportunity over time to teach A Level Mathematics and A Level Further Mathematics in addition to GCSE Mathematics. We also have a successful Level 3 Core Maths course in the Sixth Form to encourage further development of students' mathematical skills. Over 50% of our current Year 12 students are taking a Level 3 Maths course.

We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.

King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2022 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we have recently expanded, adding an additional form group to accommodate the growing number of children in the local area.
