Role: contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Rate: £ competitive + outside IR35

Located: Newport south Wales

Duration: 6 weeks + to cover sickness

This is an onsite role with only 1x day per WFH potentially.

Required skills:

  • Must have own solid works license.
  • 2D/3D CAD
  • Understanding of design using metals, composites, and plastics
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and DfM, particularly for low volumes
  • Working with suppliers for manufacture and assembly
  • CAD skills in modelling, managing assemblies and drafting.
  • Understanding of ISO drawing standards, geometric tolerancing
  • Producing and managing bills of materials
  • Producing assembly instructions
  • Delivery focused with ability to estimate and plan tasks and manage delivery to schedule
