Burman Recruitment are partnering with a prestigious London based University looking for a Director of Strategic Change.

As the Director of Strategic Change you will play a pivotal role in driving and implementing organisational transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing the university's competitive position, operational efficiency, and academic excellence. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, you will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful execution of strategic change initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and refine the university's strategic vision and roadmap for change initiatives aligned with institutional goals and priorities.
  2. Change Management Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of change management strategies and plans to facilitate smooth transitions and mitigate resistance across the organisation.
  3. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders across academic departments, administrative units, and external partners to foster a culture of collaboration and ensure alignment of change efforts with institutional objectives.
  4. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex change projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  5. Communication and Engagement: Develop and execute communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the change process, leveraging various channels and platforms.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and obstacles to change implementation and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruption and maximise success.
  7. Capacity Building: Provide guidance, training, and support to faculty, staff, and leaders on change management principles, tools, and best practices.
  8. Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of change initiatives, and provide regular progress reports to senior leadership.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback, conducting post-implementation reviews, and incorporating lessons learned into future change efforts.
  10. Stay Abreast of Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to change management and organisational development, and incorporate relevant insights into strategic planning.Qualifications
  11. Degree in Business Administration, Organisational Development, Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  12. Proven experience in leading strategic change initiatives within complex organisations, preferably in higher education or a related field.
  13. Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools, with certification in change management.
  14. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  15. Demonstrated project management expertise, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  16. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive organisational change.
  17. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a track record of fostering inclusive environments and promoting cultural competence.Candidate Must Haves
