An opportunity has arisen for a curriculum team leader in a newly re-formed curriculum area comprising of drama and music. We are looking for a dynamic and successful drama or music teacher to lead and manage this motivated and highly experienced team. The school puts a high priority on the performing arts and pupils are able to thrive not just through the lessons but also the fantastic extra curricular and enrichment opportunities that this team and the school as a whole provide.

The successful candidate will work in a fantastic school amongst a team of dedicated staff and with pupils who are keen and ready to learn. In our Ofsted inspection in December 2022 we were judged to be good in all areas and the inspectors pointed out:

'Pupils at Bowland High enjoy coming to school...The positive relationships that teachers have fostered with pupils mean that they know who to turn to if they have concerns or any worries. This makes pupils feel happy and safe in school. ...Pupils behave well in lessons and are eager to work hard.'

School context

Bowland High is a co-educational secondary academy based in Grindleton, near Clitheroe in Lancashire. The intake of Pupils is aged 11-16 and it is a non-denominational school. Bowland is a smaller than average secondary school that has just increased its PAN from 110 to 140. Bowland High overlooks the River Ribble and Pendle Hill from an elevated position and is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
