We are currently seeking to appoint a Science Technician to support the Science Faculty. The successful candidate will provide general support in the Science department, including preparation and maintenance of classroom resources as requested by teaching staff. You will assist the Senior Science Technician in the preparation of science practical's and carry out any other task necessary to the role.

You will be expected to have excellent communication skills, be IT literate and have good numeracy and literacy skills. You will have opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge and you must demonstrate a willingness to grab these opportunities. You will also be expected to respond promptly to the needs of staff and students regarding experiments and assessed practical's and anticipate these needs.

An interest in, or background knowledge of, Science is essential. In addition to this a willingness to train as a first aider would be desirable.

The contract is a full-time, term time post. The hours of work will be 36.5 hours per week during the term.

The salary for this post is on the Colleges' Support staff pay point 5, currently £22,736 per annum, FTE (which will be adjusted for full-time, term time only working).
