Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) is the lead body for supporting, developing, and promoting the voluntary and community sector in the Rotherham Borough. Our role is to support and develop effective action to bring about positive change in the lives of individuals and communities in the local area.

As an Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for providing effective administration support to the organisation, including support to all aspects of the HR function, PA duties to the CEO and governance administration to the Board. Being a key holder with some responsibility for security of the building will form part of this role.

Job Purpose:

To provide effective administrative support to the organisation, including PA duties to the CEO and governance administration to the Board, relevant sub-committees, and senior management meetings

To provide administration support to all aspects of HR functions, including co-ordination of key HR processes; for example: staff annual leave records.

To co-ordinate organisational events and projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a support role within a busy office environment.
  • Good standard of general education (including English and Mathematics).
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
