We have a great opportunity for a skilled and experienced Digital Communications and Content Manager to join our External Communications team and play a central role in delivering our online and corporate social media content strategy. This is a 12 month FTC and can be based in Edinburgh or London.

About the Role

As part of the External Communications team the Digital Communications and Content Manager will support the Head of Content in overseeing a dynamic, engaging and strategic social media presence for our abrdn corporate accounts.

The role holder will also be heavily involved in creating, curating and commissioning content for our News and Insight on , and building connection to this through our social media channels to drive increasing traffic.

Key Responsibilities:

Play a key role in the External Communications team, publishing across a number of external digital channels such as and corporate social media channels. You'll report to the (incoming) Head of Content within the External Communications team You'll be part of a team of four who has responsibility for a broad range of external digital channels so you'll be expected to work flexibly with colleagues and across channels You will have the opportunity to build and manage relationships with professionals across the business and with our external agencies Skills and ExperienceEssential: Understand writing for online and social media principles and practicalities Understand accessibility principles and practicalities, and fundamentals of visual design Confident working with various forms multimedia, including image management Capable of working across multiple digital platforms to manage different channels, including social media channels and analytics Confident of publishing and monitoring social media corporate accounts, including management of campaigns, reporting and organic activity Conversant with principles of UX, SEO and measurement Desirable: Understanding and knowledge of emerging technology landscape (for internal and external channels) Knowledge and experience of HTML, CSS and Javascript Thorough knowledge of UX, SEO, measurement and critical metrics Experience with information architecture and user interface best practice Multimedia skills beyond basic image amendment Video skills Competencies: Comfortable working as part of a team that operates flexibly across a variety of internal and external digital channels Confident in trying to resolve problems and self-managing work Excellent relationship skills – work proactively with key business stakeholders and suppliers Able to help refine a business requirement and translate it into an outcome Able to prioritise work effectively, manage your time, attention to detail and work to tight and changing deadlines Able to contribute constructively to team and project discussions using personal experience and skills to advise, guide and challenge We are proud to announce that we have officially become a Disability Confident Committed – Level One employer.
