Civil Engineering Technicians

CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Technician (TG1 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract of 6-12 months, with possibility of extension.

·Pay Rate - £11.99 per/hr

·Location – DfI, Roads & Rivers Network Services Southern Division

·Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum

·Hours – 37 hours per week

Responsibilities will include:

· Ensuring that public roads and footways are inspected to schedule and to identify defects for repair in accordance with Road Maintenance Standards for Safety and to provide a statutory defence in public liability claims.

· Dealing with public complaints within a reasonable timescale.

· Checking and supervision of work carried out by the internal and external contractor.

· Meeting established targets with regard to inspections of work carried out by utility companies.

· General Office duties.

Essential Experience/Qualifications

· ONC in Civil Engineering (Or equivalent approved)

AND

· A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.

Desired Experience/Qualifications

General experience of road maintenance and building / civil engineering construction.

Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
