The purpose of this position is to lead the accurate and timely financial analysis on various big data and actuarial/financial reporting projects for medical and group risk life and disability programs, with more large-scale consulting projects and new product launches in the pipeline.

You will be working under a more experience manager and support with actuarial projects as well as liaise with consultants on various aspects of group risk and medical insurance.

We will count on you to:

  • Work on basic to moderately complex actuarial/quantitative analysis projects with some guidance from senior project team members in order to assess and calculate costs, rates, risks and trends associated with underwriting health and life insurance brokering contracts, or projecting health care related costs.
  • Reserving and capital modelling and reporting for Group Risk and Medical products under various reporting standards (IFRS17, UK GAAP, IAS19)
  • Projecting retiree medical costs using cost/enrolment data and providing advice on projected experience and valuation, accounting reporting and management of these liabilities
  • Analysing the viability of group risk scheme and group medical scheme to insure benefits through a trust arrangement; providing clients with recommendations based on the analysis
  • Project cashflow scenarios and simulations for Insurance and Reinsurance Funds (including Captives) and recommend optimal capital management strategies, including reinsurance limits
  • Evaluating group risk and income protection benefits; making recommendations on how to manage future costs based on demographics
  • Gathers, organizes, tests, and reviews client or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness, and to identify any discrepancies.
  • Performs basic and increasingly complex analyses and cost projections by using or modifying existing products, tools, and pricing models in Excel, SAS, and other software, with some input and feedback from senior project team members.
  • Participates in the development of company's intellectual capital in order to develop knowledge of health insurance actuarial services and products.
  • Proactively managing all stakeholders; which include internal and external clients

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Group Health & Life Protection products
  • Strong actuarial modelling experience and ability to work with large quantities of data
  • Demonstrable leadership abilities with the capability of managing own workloads and client demands
  • Solvency II, IFRS17 and UK GAAP experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills
  • Strong IT skills with advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint
