Breakfast Catering Assistant

Salary: Grade 2 - £22,366 for 2.5 hours per week term time only for 44.8 weeks per annum equating to £1,298.47 pro rata rising to 45.8 weeks, £1,327.46 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.

Your role will be to assist in the preparation and production of school meals and the collection of money, and serving of meals and all associated cleaning duties.

To assist the Cook-in-Charge with the preparation and production of meals for a primary school. To deputise for the Cook-in-Charge as required.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Undertake normally under the general supervision of a Cook-in-Charge, operations connected with the preparation and cooking of meals and the serving of food
• Duties will include preparation of food, beverages, skilled cooking activities in accordance with menus and the organisation and serving of food.
• Transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties e.g. washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables. Cleaning of kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.

Personal Specification

• Should have NVQ in catering or be prepared to work towards relevant NVQ.
• Have attended or be prepared to attend a basic hygiene course.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with customers in a polite manner.
