Alstom is the UK & Ireland's leading supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. We provide the widest range of smart solutions in the rail market, from innovative high-speed rolling stock, metros and trams to maintenance, modernisation, infrastructure and signalling.

Purpose of role

  • Drive the execution of project according to contractual requirements and JV partner and customer expectations to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom and JV project management and execution processes,
  • Be accountable for project QCDP with respect to interfaces and risk management.
  • Ensure Alstom and Joint Venture legal and contractual rights are protected

What are my key responsibilities?

  1. Be accountable for project QCDP performance and optimise Project Financial performance (Margin & Cash) relating to interfaces and risks between the Joint Venture Partners
  2. Be responsible for the project governance relating to interfaces including CCM, Risks and Savings. Define project strategy in line with contract requirements, working with CoD, Partner engineering lead and SSMs / IPTs
  3. Lead and coordinate project activities including:
  • Resources management:
  • Define, manage and measure interfaces with WP owners and SSM/IPT leads. Hold people accountable for delivery and transfer of information
  • Escalate when resources available do not match the project needs
  • Ensure all project risks are fully defined, managed and mitigated. Take personal ownership for output results.
  • Team leading, including SSM, metier leads, Project Managers of internal and external partners:
  • Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project/ goals.
  • Engage teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them
  • Synchronize internal and JV partners and arbitrate when necessary
  • Alignment with contractual requirements and arbitration of Q, C, D, P re-baselining and change management at project level
  • Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management
  • Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual
  1. Manage external stakeholders' relationship
  • Support the Project Directors with the customer and partner relationship with respect to train level interfaces
  • Continuously ensuring alignment with customer contractual requirements
  • Ensuring contract management towards customer and JV Partner.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong experience in a similar position
  • Technical experience and strong knowledge in engineering.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability. Enjoys variety in work practices, opinions and approaches
  • Self-Motivation. Carries out, using own initiative, activities that add value to the job
