The College seeks to appoint a highly creative and committed individual to join the Artist Blacksmithing course team in the School of Materials & Design. The role focuses on developing students' forged metal and design skills, and understanding of metallurgy.

The Artist Blacksmithing degree programme at Hereford College of Arts is at the forefront of education in forged metal design, participating in a vibrant, international community of practice. We offer students a unique opportunity to learn both forging and design skills, and the chance to make a diverse range of products, including architectural ironwork, functional objects and tools, and innovative sculpture.

The successful candidate should have proven expertise and professional experience (5 years or more) in the field of contemporary forged metal design. It is also desirable that candidates will have experience of working within Higher Education and teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level. The posts include the management, co-ordination and delivery of modules within the School of Material and Design, as well as supporting the enhancement of the student experience. A degree in a relevant discipline is required and a Post Graduate qualification in Teaching is desirable.
