We seek an excellent communicator with a sound understanding of the issues faced by individuals with forced migration backgrounds in the UK to join the Global Office as a part-time Sanctuary Co-ordinator to cover a maternity leave.

The Sanctuary Co-ordinator will report to and work closely with the Director of the Global Office to manage the University's Sanctuary status. The role will encompass work with Schools and Units across the University to ensure a joined up, supportive and inclusive experience for students with forced migration backgrounds, and scholars at risk. The role will provide dedicated cohort support and signposting to other services internally and externally. In addition, the role holder will liaise with external bodies and partners and collaborate across the sector to share best practice and support the principles of Sanctuary. The role will also include co-ordination of funding allocated to supporting Sanctuary initiatives and scholars at risk.

The candidate we are looking for will be able to work closely with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally, and be committed to ensuring that St Andrews can maintain and develop its reputation as a University of Sanctuary.

You will work with a close knit and collegiate team in the Global Office, contributing also to wider Global Office projects and initiatives in support of University Strategy. You will need to be able to work with colleagues and committees across the University ensuring that projects are developed within policy and regulatory frameworks.

This is a fixed term post for seven months to cover maternity leave. The role is part-time (14.5 hours per week) with working patterns to be agreed with the line manager at the outset. Secondments for interested internal candidates would be considered.
