Engage Talent Partners are working exclusively with our Aberdeen-based client to source a Graduate Buyer.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within supply chain. You will work as part of a purchasing team supporting procurement requirements relating to engineering projects within the oil and gas and renewables sector.
Key responsibilities:
- Selects suitable sources, requests bids as necessary, evaluates quotation and makes final supplier selection.
- Verifies that Bill of Materials details are correct and complete and highlight to your immediate supervisor, any discrepancies.
- Negotiates pricing, lead times and terms, conditions and recommends best commercial options ensuring budgets are met.
- Capture and report to immediate supervisor any anomalies with BOM, budget vs actual costs, lead-times etc.
- Performs order expediting activities as required
- Liaises with Projects personnel highlighting any issues with achieving requested deliveries
- Establish and build good working relationships with suppliers
- Adhere to the Approved Vender supplier procedure with regards to setting up suppliers on our approved vender listing (AVL)
- Collate and prepare pre-tender documents to be issued to suppliers for specific tenders
- Review and report Scorecards for allocated suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant educational background, have previous experience in a similar role and looking to develop a long-term career within purchasing. Graduates with no experience will also be considered for this role if they have a relevant qualification relating to projects, engineering or supply chain. You must be an effective communicator, have strong IT skills and an ability to organise workload to meet deadlines.
The successful candidate will receive a salary between 27,000 to 33,000 as well as bonus, pension, health cover and a range of other benefits.
