Retford Oaks Academy is looking for a Cover Teacher to join our existing team and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for students with support from academy staff during short term absence of class teachers.

The opportunity

Delivering the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach.Being responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.Establishing a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment for students, rooted in mutual respect and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly The successful candidate will be: Reliable and punctualUsed to working with young people, especially 11-19Adaptable, flexible, confident and calm under pressureConfident with behaviour management skillsWell organisedShow commitment to professional developmentCommitted to education and teaching Essential Good knowledge in a range of subjectsUsed to working with young people, especially 11-19Clarity of purpose and student centred visionUnderstanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and standards of results and behaviour Desirable Experience of teaching in a secondary environmentEvidence of contributing to writing and implementing relevant plans and resources Our Employee Benefits
