The Role:


We are seeking an outstanding tutor to teach Art and Design to our Level 1 - 3 & Foundation art and Design, UAL Art & Design students. You will lead the Foundation art and design course as well as other art courses, planning and delivering an exciting curriculum including live project work, visits and trips and engaging with opportunities for developing students personal development. Our learners develop a depth and range of skills that allows them to progress to their next steps in a range of creative practices including Creative Degrees and employment. You should be able to deliver lessons in traditional visual communication skills such as painting, printmaking, observational and experimental drawing, digital image making. You will have a high level of knowledge and skill in areas of creative project management and will understand and be able to guide students through their project work using creative research and development processes involved particularly in the area of Fine Art. The role will see you responsible for a Foundation art and Design course and another art and design group(s), monitoring attendance, providing progress reviews, assessments and supporting their progression plans towards a career in the Creative Industries. This will include supporting their applications to Universities and producing CVs for employment.

Requirements:

  • Our tutors are dual practitioners and demonstrate expertise in teaching and learning as well as having recent experience and track record of working in the Creative Industries. You should have expertise in one or more creative technical skill such as painting or illustration or print. We are happy to welcome industry specialists who have some experience in teaching and working with young people and as a result are keen to continue to develop their teaching skills.   • Qualifications could include BA Hons (Creative subject)
  • PGCE Secondary or FE
  • Creative Industry experience
