What you will do

  • Conduct training sessions and drills to educate Firefighters on various firefighting techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Assess colleagues knowledge, understanding and skills during training sessions.
  • Evaluate the performance of Firefighters during training exercises and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Stay updated on new firefighting technologies, techniques, and regulations to ensure training programs are current and effective.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues offering guidance and advice.

What you will bring

  • Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of firefighting techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Teaching and Coaching Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner, tailoring your communication style to a diverse individuals and experience levels.
  • Training Development: Experience in designing and developing training programs, including lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises, to ensure firefighters are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust training methods and materials in response to evolving firefighting practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership qualities to inspire and motivate firefighters, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork within KFRS (Kent Fire & Rescue Service)
  • Analytical Skills: Aptitude for assessing training needs, evaluating performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Professionalism: Exemplary conduct and ethical standards, serving as a role model for integrity, responsibility, and accountability within KFRS.
