The Role

This individual will be a technical expert and play a key role in the analysis of insurance risk for Savings & Retirements Line of Business quotes. They will be supporting our global clients through tender activity, ongoing technical/pricing support and supporting innovative solutions to improve business.

The incumbent will be a key member of a quote team delivering high quality pricing analysis on individual opportunities for clients and support Savings & Retirements pricing projects. The product set will require the individual to assess insurance risk associated with longevity and whole of life products that may be asset intensive or insurance risk only as well as any other Savings and Retirements products covered by the line of business.

The role holder will be supporting the AVP and taking a key role in the production of quotes for clients, working closely with the Deal Pricing team and the Client Solutions team. Your expertise in pricing, product development and experience analysis will support you as you work alongside the other stakeholders to deliver creative solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

You will be involved in the internal governance process gaining visibility with the PLRe executives.

As a creative thinker the role holder will support the development of PLRe pricing sophistication by understanding latest pricing and analytical techniques and continuously improving internal approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a key role in the quote process ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery of experience analyses and production of high quality analysis.
  • Support in the development of pricing methodologies and approaches, together with supporting timely implementation of treaties for Valuation purposes.
  • Uses initiative and creative thinking to support delivery of new solutions, processes or approaches to pricing risk.
  • Adhere to risk controls set up to protect the business.
  • Keep abreast of industry and client developments and support the AVP in delivering market leading techniques.
  • Support and collaborate with the Client Solutions and other key stakeholders in the quote process.
Qualifications & Expertise
  • Qualified actuary.
  • Strong and relevant experience in life (re)insurance and/or life consultancy, ideally with strong experience analysis background.
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgement and commercial awareness, to produce justifiable and practical pricing advice even where data is sparse or difficult to work with.
  • Good understanding of the UK life insurance market
