Exciting Opportunity for a Merchandiser

We are pleased to offer an outstanding opportunity for a Merchandiser to join the team of a renowned independent home interior brand located in Bracknell, Berkshire. This is a six month contract position.

Role Overview:
As a Merchandiser, your main responsibility will be to ensure the appropriate stock levels are maintained throughout the business. You will collaborate closely with the buying team to forecast and plan for new and existing products. Additionally, you will oversee a specific product area, ensuring the successful launch of the strongest range, analyzing performance data, and striving for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed analysis at a SKU & attribute level for Monday Trade, Lessons Learnt, Signs Offs, and Adhoc purposes.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities within the current range.
  • Work with the buying team to develop the range for the upcoming season.
  • Use initiative to provide analysis and recommendations as needed.
  • Manage stock and container budgets to optimize stock levels and customer lead times.
  • Forecast and place orders at the container level.
  • Suggest product discontinuations and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers in the Far East and Europe for purchase orders and forecasting.
  • Enhance the presence of the Merchandising team within the organization.
  • Support junior team members by providing necessary training and development.
  • Assist the Merchandise Manager/Senior Merchandiser with any required tasks.
  • Demonstrate a passion for Home products and stay informed about the current market and competitors.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy for the area in close collaboration with the buying team.
  • Provide analysis and data to the Merchandise Manager for budget compilation.
  • Identify and propose new processes to improve team efficiency.
Perks:

Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end buy process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle challenges in a rapidly growing company.
  • Experience in confidently presenting large volumes of data.
