Job SummaryBritish Learning Academy, based in Chichester University campus, Bishop Otter, is looking for
EFL teachers responsible for delivering engaging English lessons to teenage learners (11 to 17 years old).
We require 7 teachers from 1st July to 29th July 2024.

Teaching hours are 9 am to 12.30 for a total of 15 hours per week, 5 days a week (there is the possibility of having to teach during weekends) plus 5 hours of planning /meetings.

Teachers residing on-site will be requested to assist with extra duties, such as accompanying students on excursions during weekends or supervising them during afternoon or evening activities.

Teachers will be working with young people and must act with a high degree of integrity and their conduct should be exemplary at all times.

Ideally, teachers are based in Chichester or able to commute daily.
Residential accommodation on site possible, depending on availability.

Safer Recruitment Policy
BLA operates a strict safer recruitment policy and all staff will complete checks on their suitability to
work with children.
All applicants will be required to supply an up-to-date CV, and gaps in employment history must be
made clear. Applicants will also provide contact details of 2 suitable referees (preferably latest
employer and any other former employers) which will be checked prior to employment. The
referees will be asked specifically about your suitability to work with children. All freelancers will be
required to provide proof of identity and qualifications (copies of original documents will be taken
for our records) and undergo Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) and Prohibited List
checks.
All freelancers will be expected to share the school's commitment to safeguarding and actively
engage in looking after Under-18s safely.QualificationsQualifications
Level 6 or equivalent Bachelors degree

Plus:
A reputable Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, that is externally
validated, for example Trinity TESOL, Cambridge CELTA (120 hours of input, plus 6 hours
assessed teaching practice).
On-line TESOL qualifications are not accepted, without assessed teaching practice.

and/or:
QTS in English or a Modern Foreign Language.

Preferred:
Enhanced DBS and update service registered and Safeguarding Level 1 (preferred but not

Newly qualified teachers :
£465

12 months + experience : £475
5 years + experience : £500

Additionally, non-residential teachers will receive a £50 per week contribution towards travel expenses.

Residential teachers will enjoy full board and accommodation, including single en-suite rooms, provided at no extra cost. A residential teacher is required to work 11 periods per week based on a six-day working schedule. A period consists of approximately three hours in the morning, afternoon, or evening. For instance, a three-hour teaching session in the morning is equivalent to one period on days when lessons occur. Teaching may extend to weekends (Sundays).
