About CUR8
The science is clear - even if we do everything else right on reducing emissions, the world needs to remove 200 Gigatonnes of carbon from the atmosphere by the year 2050. There is no Net Zero without carbon removals.
At CUR8, we're driven by making the worldwide market for Carbon Removals - on a mission to facilitate 1Bn tonnes of carbon removed in a single year. We combine financial and scientific expertise to build high-quality and diverse carbon removal portfolios that enable companies to invest in carbon impact with confidence and ultimately reach net zero. Offering products and services that will enable the Carbon Removals market to scale more quickly. Accelerating market development by unlocking financing for the most innovative carbon removal projects to scale.
We're systemic thinkers. Together with our sister NGO, Rethinking Removals, we collaborate with the entire carbon removals ecosystem, across suppliers, buyers, policymakers, and narrative setters, together to develop and invest in future projects to make sure there are enough carbon removals in 1, 5, 10 and 25 years time.
About our team
We're a small but mighty team; between us, we've built, scaled, and sold successful tech businesses, advised governments on net zero, shaped global narratives at Nature, New Scientist, and the BBC, led startup support and investments at Google, invested in and built carbon removal startups. Oh, and done the TED talk about carbon removal (haven't you seen it yet?)
About the role
The Operations Associate will support a range of systems management work across CUR8's Carbon Operations and Commercial functions. The initial priorities for this role include:
Manage the buying process with all our suppliers - vendor set-up, contracting, order forms, paymentEnsure strong ongoing relationships with our existing and new carbon removal suppliersHelp find new projects and negotiate competitive pricing with themManage the onboarding of new clients and portfolios into our customer platformManage the process of retiring credits in the relevant registriesDevelop recommendations for new business processes and initiatives to support improvements in carbon and revenue operationsSupport the commercial team in the development of client portfolios for proposalsLead the iteration and signing of client contracts for carbon removal purchases.Support on-going customer queries and problem solving; obsessing over how we make our service better, clearer, more impactful, efficient, and easy to communicate to our key stakeholders.Ensure all sales data is well managed via Hubspot driving high-quality pipeline management and reportingYou will contribute to an effective, fun, impact driven culture, where everyone has an opportunity to lead
About you
You are passionate about impact, startups, and climate change Minimum of 2 years of working experience in an operations-focused roleExperience working in an earlier-stage B2B startup and/or in the carbon project development process would be helpful, but not essentialExceptional attention-to-detail and highly organised with a rigorous approach to planning and executionA traders mindset, able to balance the requirements of clients with the need to scale the supply side of the marketYou are a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a nascent team where tasks and priorities will evolve over time and require efficient prioritisation and time-management Strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to function within a team and to build relationships with customers and suppliersFamiliarity with legal agreements and invoicing proceduresEnjoy learning new things. You're excited by the challenge of learning a new space.
