Job summary

We are inviting applications for a Head of Strategic Communications and Public Relations of the AI for Healthcare Centre (AI4Health). This is a high-calibre professional role which stirs the direction and development of the AI4Health Centre as a brand, supporting its overall partnerships and collaborations.

This is a key role, providing strategic and operational direction for the development of the Centre's profile, research and partner engagement, in support of its vision.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Leading the development of the Centre brand
  • Develop and manage the Centre's strategic activities, communications and public relations.
  • Develop and manage relations with internal and external press teams and media
  • Build and manage effective relationships with the Centre's student cohorts, alumni, academic staff, partner community of the Centre and Imperial communication teams
  • Manage the Centre's responses to public news, policy and regulatory updates relevant to AI for care and health.
  • Develop and manage the creation and dissemination of impactful newsletters, annual reports, appropriate media campaigns to create a Centre legacy.

    Essential requirements

    Successful applications in this role are expected to meet requirements including:

    • Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent and/or relevant professional, industry, research experience in a similar capacity.
    • Significant previous experience in higher education in a similar or related position(s), or substantial relevant experience in another sector, demonstrating development through holding a series of progressively demanding work positions.
    • Knowledge of issues related to ethical and clinical policies, governance, compliance
    • Ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships and networks, with a diplomatic and considerate way of engaging with people of different seniority levels.
    • Highly self-directed with a high level of initiative and creativity, able to manage a number of complex projects in parallel.
    • Highly articulate in spoken and written communications, with exemplary presentation skills suitable for diverse and senior audiences.
