We have an exciting opportunity at Shrewsbury School to work within our Boarding Houses as Relief Matron, providing cover on the Matron's non-working day.

The successful applicant will bring excellent communication and pastoral skills to this Relief Matron role, based in three of our Boarding Houses. This position will provide relief cover for the permanent Matrons during the week in term-time.

The chosen applicant will also have a high level of organisational skills and a proven ability to form professional relationships with teenagers. The Relief Matron will work closely with the Housemaster or Housemistress, permanent Matron and pupils. This role also involves the need to have an understanding and sympathetic approach, balancing a friendly disposition with the need to maintain discipline.

This position is required during term time only, working the following shifts:

Monday, Thursday and Friday morning (07:15 to 09:30)Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon to 17:45) Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening (21:00 to 22:30) A full induction programme is provided along with training and development opportunities.
