About the company

Our rapidly scaling client, Connectd, are a super ambitious startup and leading player in the startup, investor and advisor ecosystem. They're looking for a Finance Director to spearhead the business through its next phase of growth, as they prepare for series A and international expansion. They've raised $9m so far, are currently generating $6m ARR and this is all off the back of some very exceptional performance. (513% Monthly Recurring Revenue growth in 24 months and 173% Annual Revenue growth FY23 vs FY22)

Requirements

The role - What will success look like:

Your role will be to lead on everything finance for the business as it continues on its fast growth trajectory. That'll include:

Financial Leadership: Driving superior financial performance through strategic planning, laser focused analysis, and fostering a high-performing finance team.Strategic Impact: Becoming a trusted advisor, influencing key decisions with data-driven insights and contributing to the successful execution of the company's mission.Futureproofing: Ensuring that the business is ready on all fronts to handle everything and anything that comes its way as it continues its growth and expansion.Operational Excellence: Ensuring robust risk management, compliance, and accurate financial reporting while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Your day to day:Modelling and Insight: Build and operate a fluid financial model to scenario plan with ease and agility and ultimately provide reliable information to support key business decisions.Month end: Overseeing month end to ensure all necessary data is captured and processed accurately by the finance team. Producing management packs and other insightful reports for the board and senior management.Analysis: Producing insight that drives impact and supports decision-making across the business. This will also include storytelling and messaging - so that the numbers, trends, analytics are brought to life and have impact.Cash Flow: Maintain a rolling 3-month cash flow forecast and a higher-level extended forecast to ensure sufficient cash is maintained at all times and aligns to future projects, investment and overall company requirements.Business Partnering: Being a commercial finance business partner to the SLT and wider business to help shape future initiatives and facilitate the continued growth of the business. This will also encompass effective stakeholder management with current and future investors.Governance & Risk Management: Proactively identifying and mitigating financial risks. Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and reporting standards. Implementing robust risk management processes.This role is for you if:You're willing and able to lead on all things finance for a super ambitious startup where the minimum requirement is maximum effortYou're comfortable working in a startup environment and adapting to changing priorities.You can translate complex financial information into clear, compelling narratives to various stakeholders.You know how to deliver a highly effective, efficient, engaging finance team and function with impact and forging strong, lasting relationships across the business.You are an excellent communicator and have great people skills with high levels of self-awareness.You will need:An accountancy qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMAMinimum of 5-8 years experienceRelevant industry experience is preferable - but we will consider others if you can demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen and impact played in a fast growing business.Experience with Xero is idealTo be very comfortable modelling different financial and commercial scenariosExperience of working and driving high levels of engagement and being a highly effective and impactful commercial finance person.Preferred: Experience navigating a Series A funding raisePreferred: US market expansion experienceBenefits
