Join our team as a Management Accountant at a Shipley based client

Axon Moore is excited to collaborate with our client in recruiting a Management Accountant to be part of their manufacturing business team. As the Management Accountant, you will directly report to the Financial Controller and take charge of various responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate valuation of stock and work in progress (WIP) as per accounting policies.
  • Run period end stock and WIP valuation reports, reconcile them to the General Ledger.
  • Prepare accrual and prepayment calculations for monthly management accounts.
  • Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to plan and forecast.
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide guidance to the Finance Administrator.
  • Post monthly payroll to the General Ledger.
  • Oversee inter-company invoicing and reconcile group balances.
  • Prepare the VAT return for submission to HMRC.
  • Handle various tasks and projects supporting the Financial Controller and Site Leadership Team.

Desired qualifications and skills:

  • CIMA or ACCA fully qualified or finalist.
  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Maths, or relevant experience.
  • Experience and understanding of Manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to work within deadline-driven environments.
  • Accurate with keen attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, especially in MS Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Experience in new systems implementations is advantageous.
  • Suitable for individuals with aspirations to grow into a Financial Controller role.
