We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Principal Lawyer to work closely with the Legal Services Manager to ensure the successful delivery of an effective legal service. The Principal Lawyer will lead a small team in the field of contentious and non-contentious work in addition to picking up general local government queries. With a high volume of interesting and varied legal cases covering all service areas within the Council, the Principal Lawyer will be a key point of contact for all senior officers and elected members supporting the Council to achieve its key priorities.

Whilst this role is a general position supporting the whole legal team, we are particularly interested to hear from individuals with experience in Contracts and Procurement, Planning and Litigation. Applications are welcomed from Solicitors, Barristers or Legal Executives, with previous local government experience being desirable but not necessary.
