Assistant Play Worker – Scale 3 (£28, £28,997) actual salary (£7,

3.45pm-6.00pm 11.25 hours a week pro-rata term time only 5 days a week at Grazebrook and Shacklewell

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Play Worker to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for the pupils who attend the Wrap Around Care provision after school. You will be responsible to assist the Play Leader & Play Workers with the daily activities of the provision. This role is based at Grazebrook Primary School.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience of working as part of a team
  • has experience of working in a childcare/play setting
  • is able to assist groups of children in specific activities and manage behaviour
  • is confident with excellent communication skills and able to build positive and supportive relationships with children, parents and staff
  • has a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
  • holds or is working towards a First Aid Certificate

    The role will involve assisting in setting up activities, supervising pupils at snack time and promote the well-being of pupils through play. The school promotes healthy eating, and you will assist in encouraging pupils to maintain the schools healthy eating ethos, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
