We have an exciting opportunity to join Penguin Michael Joseph as a publicity assistant.

Penguin Michael Joseph are the publishers of a focused but varied list of the UK's best-loved commercial fiction and non-fiction writers, from big brand name authors such as Jamie Oliver, Marian Keyes; Raynor Winn, Stephen Fry, Jojo Moyes and Nadiya Hussain to launching exciting new voices such as Ishi Robinson; working with leading Tik Tok authors such as Monica Murphy and Tillie Cole as well as a growing list of health and wellbeing writers who are experts in their fields.

You'll not only handle administrative tasks but also play a crucial role in supporting our talented publicists with their campaigns and events. If you're ready to work in a fast-paced environment and make an impact on our team's success, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Providing high level of support for senior publicists with their publicity campaigns e.g. organising travel arrangements, creating seasonal press releases, biannual divisional catalogues among other tasksGeneral administration e.g. booking meetings and diary management, organising office supplies and stationary. Maintaining databases, updating systems and budget sheets, and raising and coding purchase orders or invoicesPosting, when required, to our social media channelsGrowing to work more independently on PR for smaller, review-driven titles and drafting press releases for these and other titlesActing as a point of contact for the department, fielding phone calls from the Press and answering queries from the public Plus much more What you'll bring

We are looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working as part of team and is able to think creatively to solve problems. We hope you'll love working with the books published by Penguin Michael Joseph, too.

You'll also have:

Excellent organisation and time management skills with excellent attention to detailThe ability to multitask and identify how to manage competing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of peopleExperience of using a variety of social mediaThe ability to be a team-player How to apply

For this role, we expect that you will attend our Nine Elms office 3 days a week.
