WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for Technicians who will be preparing, updating and instrumenting vehicles with microphones and accelerometers for static and dynamic testing in a vehicle semi-anechoic chamber for the development of the refinement attribute to support JLR's product DNA.

This is an opportunity to be part of a diagnostics/testing development team who are essential to the profession and craft that delivers class leading levels of refinement of our JLR products synonymous with their premium luxury.

This is a Monday to Friday role alternating between 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm shifts. Some overtime may be required (approx once per month at the weekend)

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Complete full preparation of test facility, parts and instrumentation to enable effective and timely data delivery
  • Fit vehicles securely to the facility chassis dynamometer including wheel changing and fitting of safety cut out devices
  • Conduct hygiene / build checks on vehicles and inspect component installations
  • Change vehicle components to support measurements
  • Produce NVH test parts from acoustic materials; for example. foam, heavy layer
  • Fit NVH test equipment to test vehicles
  • Provide consistent driving of the test vehicle on the facility chassis dynamometer

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • You'll be an NVQ qualified technician who is familar with servicing vehicles as part of an automotive tier 1 OEM or a tier 1 automotive component supplier
  • You'll enjoy being hands on and practical working on vehcile components
  • You'll have knoweldge of working in a laboratory / rig test environment and have knoweldge of working with instrumentation / equipment.
  • Please note that driving will form part of this role therefore a UK driver's licence is required
