About the apprenticeship

Duties

Duties will include learning how to perform maintenance and servicing on light vehicles. You will have involvement with the maintenance and replacement of all manner of vehicle components e.g. tyres/brakes/ignition systems/clutches/fluids. Other duties will be undertaken e.g.

maintaining a clean and tidy work area in line with health & safety working practices, general housekeeping and dealing with customers as required.

Whilst in full-time employment you will undertake the following qualifications:

VCQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Competence (7270 series)
VRQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles (7290 series)
Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy

Additional information


Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Bridgend and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a month.

You will be employed full-time as an apprentice by this company based in Bridgend. You will be enrolled onto a level 2 foundation apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.

Requirements

Skills

Must be punctual and reliable.
Have a passion for the industry and be eager to qualify.
Able to work as part of a team.
Flexible with hours worked.
Previous experience either as a hobby or study is an advantage.
Be keen to learn.
Good with manual labour.

Must be able to travel to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a month for mandatory off-the-job training.

Ability to drive desirable but not essential.
