  • Working for a charity delivering critical services What you will be doing.....As a Financial Accountant, you will work to support Finance functions of the charity. You will provide the financial controller with financial insights and analysis, enabling informed decisions - at the earliest possible stage - to drive the business forward. 1. Manage transactional financial processes.2. Post month end reconciling journals3. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations4. Support the Payroll team with Journal posting.5. Understand our business performance through financial analysis and forecasting6. Contribute to the completion of monthly reporting frameworks7. Regularly review and update transaction processes for Purchase and Sales ledger teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.8. Support the statutory accounts process through the formal audit and through the implementation of regular control functions.9. Play an active role in the annual audit process including coordinating and preparing the Statutory Accounts10. Review records against contract information and carry out monthly reconciliations11. Prepare Regulatory Returns - ONS surveys, VAT, PAYE and Tax and Gift aid returns.12. Manage stakeholder relationships through evidence-based challenge, and innovation What you need to offer....You are a qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) or Part Qualified final stages. You have proven previous experience in a Finance department of a charity. You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills (confidence; resilience; influence). Importantly, you have proven experience in using financial systems, data handling, and Microsoft Office, specifically the Advanced Excel analysis and products. A demonstrable ability to prioritise your workload and ability to work under pressure.9. You have demonstrable experience of making a positive differenceEssential Industry Experience: Social Care sector, Health Care sector, Education sector, or alternatively any relevant Commercial sector experience.Knowledge of the Care Quality Council (CQC) regulatory framework or the Ofsted regulatory framework.What's in it for you....
