We are looking for a positive and skilled Teacher of English to deliver the highest level of teaching & learning for our aspirational students. Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to motivate students through inspirational, personalised teaching is essential. The ability to teach to GCSE is essential and the ability to teach to A Level is desirable.

Our highly valued ECT programme is delivered both at school and Trust level, providing the opportunity to meet and share experiences with ECTs across the Trust as well as maximising skills and experience in delivery from across all of our schools.

The department currently has eleven full time and five part-time members of staff. It has a wealth of experienced teachers who all work well together. The department collectively provide an excellent level of support and collaborative development through sharing of best practice and an open-door culture.

The school has an excellent record of success at GCSE and A Level:

GCSEs - In summer 2023, the school's Progress 8 score was +0.66, with an Attainment 8 score of 50.29, which shows the excellent attainment of our school. 64% of our students achieved a grade 5 in both English and Maths, with 83% achieving this at grade 4. More than 35% of the GCSE grades awarded were grade 7 and above, with 20% being awarded at grade 8 & 9.

A Levels - In 2023 students achieved an average grade of a B. Our average points score of 39.38 demonstrates the excellent outcomes that our students achieve. 35.5% of grades awarded were A*/A and 66% of grades awarded were A*- B.
