Junior Management Accountant

Cogent Staffing are seeking a skilled Junior Management Accountant to join our clients existing team supporting the Financial controller and preparing monthly management accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain associated schedules
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts
- Post month-end journals for multiple companies
- Own section(s) of the Profit and Loss accounts across multiple entities and/or profit centers
- Collaborate with colleagues to investigate and resolve queries
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis and contribute to special projects
- Partner with colleagues at all levels to effectively communicate results and improve reporting standards
Key Requirements
- Finance or Accountancy degree/qualification (AAT)
- Prior experience assisting in management accounts preparation
- Working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Previous experience in a finance role (e.g., Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable)
- Excellent Excel and general IT skills essential
- Passion for structure, organisation and numbers
- Experience with Sage 200 is desirable
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Friendly and enthusiastic personality with high attention to detail
- Ability to work in the UK and receive a clear DBS check
- Preference for experience in the social care sector in a finance role within a high-volume, multi-site business
