Due to an increase in pupil numbers, Lindsworth School is looking to appoint Pastoral and Learning Support Workers both on permanent and one year fixed-term contracts.

The successful candidates will need to provide evidence of experience and knowledge in the following areas and must be able to:

  • work as part of a team to provide the best possible quality of service to children and pupils with social, emotional, and mental health disabilities
  • contribute to the development of innovative, positive residential services for pupils
  • address the complex needs of children with imagination and initiative
  • demonstrate a flexible and reflective approach
  • secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils

    The successful candidate must also have previous experience in:
    • working with young people with special educational needs ideally with social, emotional and/or mental health disabilities
    • working with children and young people on an individual basis in supporting their personal development
    • working with small groups of pupils delivering interventions to support academic, behavioural and/or social progress
    • promoting the progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or tutor group

      GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade C and above in English and Mathematics is a requirement for this post together with a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).

      About Lindsworth School - "One size fits NONE"

      Lindsworth School is a provision in which all staff work together to support pupils in developing their academic and social skills whilst encouraging growth in their emotional and mental health wellbeing.

      We are a mixed day/residential special school meeting the needs of 140 pupils, and rising, from Year 4 to Year 11 who have been assessed as having social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Many of the pupils have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder. They have also experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, fixed term and permanent exclusions and long periods of part-time or no placement in a school.

      This is a school where you can make a real and lasting difference to the young people in our care. We are highly ambitious to provide our pupils with the best education and preparation for a happy and successful life in the adult world.
