DYW School Coordinators work with High School leads, partner organisations and employers to embed the Developing the Young Workforce Strategy, Young Person's Guarantee commitment and deliver employer engagement activity, stakeholder engagement, researching and influencing opportunities to provide inspirations and skills for a positive destination for young people leaving education.

The focus of the role is to develop and implement a programme of employer engagement aimed at enhancing the curriculum and increasing pupils' career awareness, employability and meta skills development.

● Deliver the DYW agenda across the whole school through pupil focused delivery in conjunction with school management

● Develop partnerships with the DYW Network, Business Community, Third Sector, Key Stakeholders and Education to support the delivery of the DYW agenda in the school

● Monitor and review DYW activity against School and Regional DYW KPIs Core Responsibilities ● Attend relevant school and partner meetings to drive DYW activity in school

● Act as a single point-of-contact for schools in terms of employer engagement and partnerships

● Work with key local partners and stakeholders to provide industry-led activity which will support pupil/employer engagement, pupils positive destination and YPG

● Identify, manage and expand the number and variety of employers engaged, including Small/Medium businesses (SME)

● Recording of data for the reporting of the DYW KPIs, to log interactions, engagements, activity and events for periodic reporting and management information

● Support the production of case studies for Qualitative Reports and promotional purposes

● Identify development opportunities for your schools and apply for central funding

● Work alongside the Skills Development Scotland school-based Careers Adviser, and other school-based coordinators (where applicable), to ensure that employer offers are targeted at the pupils who would benefit most

● Raise awareness for work based and vocational training including Apprenticeships

● Support programmes to ensure continuous improvement and take actions to correct any deficiencies to ensure pupils gain maximum benefit from the DYW supported programmes and activities

● Liaise with relevant staff to support Work Experience, meaningful industry relevant experiences and other similar programmes or qualifications by sourcing industry

● Develop your own understanding of the local economic profile, growth businesses and industry sectors.
