We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading the financial integration of a newly acquired business into Molecular Devices and serving as the finance partner to business unit leadership partnering with leadership at various levels with direct accountability of the P&L to drive profitable growth and attainment of business case objectives. Key responsibilities include standing up key planning and accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial close, reporting and planning deliverables. The role will report to the Global Corporate Controller of Molecular Devices but will have dotted line reporting to the Director, Custom Organoid Services.

What we'll get you doing:

  • Accounting and Compliance
    • Stand up requisite accounting, control, and reporting processes. Oversee BU month-end close activities in adherence to Molecular Devices and Danaher Corporate accounting and compliance policies. Ensure statutory reporting is submitted timely and adheres to local requirements.
    • Execute local transaction processing to include AR, AP, payroll, and expense administration & external reporting in collaboration with the Molecular Devices Europe finance team. Manage work of third-party service providers as required.
  • Financial Planning and analysis
    • Lead annual budget and monthly forecast requirements for business unit
    • Own monthly financial review and reporting to include variances analysis and RCCM action planning.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to be used for planning and strategic decision making such as pricing and business model analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to understand reporting needs and establish KPIs to monitor business performance and attainment of financial objectives.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Bachelor's degree: preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Substantial combined experience in FP&A or BU/regional controller related role
  • Experience gained within 'big 4' accountancy firms would be advantageous and preferred along with subsequent industry experience
  • Strong accounting technical knowledge
  • Previous management experience would be beneficial
  • Proficiency in Hyperion Planning or similar Business Intelligence financial systems
  • Proficiency with building financial models and with GAAP
  • Travel requirement: up to 25% including domestic and possible international locations
  • Ideally you will be within 1.5 hours of Cardiff for occasional site visits
