Manufacturing Assembly Technician

Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom Red Bull Racing Full time

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.

Job Description

Red Bull Racing & Technology are seeking an experienced Jig Assembly Technician to join a brand-new department. In this role, you will support the production of right first time, fit-for-purpose jigs and fixtures to the wider Chassis manufacturing departments. This position will emerse the successful candidate into the heart of our state-of-the-art facility where you'll assist with the set up and development of the department whilst embracing advanced manufacturing processes and technologies. You'll use your previous experience and expertise to ensure that our jigs and fixtures are built to the highest standard, quality and agreed delivery deadlines.

Your responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Jig Management Team Leader and maintain communication with Manufacturing departments to prioritise and meet deadlines efficiently.

Build and inspect top-level jig assemblies and associated parts to the required tolerances, ensuring quality standards are maintained through all inspection processes and highlight any non-conformance before submission.

Interpret technical engineering drawings and identify/communicate shortages of jigs or consumables.

Work with Production Engineering, Manufacturing, and Design to resolve issues throughout the Jig Lifecycle, supporting and containing immediate problems effectively.

Ensure jigs are correctly received, handled, used, returned, and stored correctly.

Support the Head of Department to drive and develop the departmental continuous improvement element.

To work to all ERP procedures, including strict adherence in ensuring works orders are raised, signed off and are kept with the job in hand at all times to maintain data integrity.

Uphold high standards of housekeeping and be flexible in workload demands demonstrating adaptability to our ever-evolving requirements.

Alongside the primary responsibilities, you will carry out additional projects as identified by the Head of Manufacturing. You'll be expected to contribute to the long-term Supply Chain strategy and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to support, communicate, and champion the Manufacturing vision.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate a high level of technical understanding including follow build processes and procedures. You'll need to be an adaptable team player, possess a proactive attitude with meticulous attention to detail.

Not only is this a fantastic Jig Assembly Technician position, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Technology. A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery scheme, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym & fitness classes, free daily food allowance, and a cycle to work scheme; but above all, the job satisfaction doesn't get any better than the feeling of making a real contribution to our championship winning grand prix cars.
