It also provides a Committee Secretariat function and supports the University's three Colleges in meeting their responsibility for quality assurance, academic standards and governance.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to join the University to manage a team of Skills Coaches to ensure that all progress reviews are undertaken in line with the Education and Skills Funding Agency's (ESFA) requirements, in addition to undertaking a case load of progress reviews with apprentices and their employer.

The candidate will bring their knowledge of industry to at least one of our apprenticeship programmes.

The candidate will lead and support Skills Coaches to conduct consistently high-quality progress reviews that support apprentices to progress on the apprenticeship in line with the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) of the apprenticeship standard.

In addition to ensuring the standard of reviews meets the requirements of ESFA and Ofsted, the postholder will support the implementation and ongoing review and development of the progress review framework.

The candidate will work with professional and academic staff as well as employers to support the delivery of high-quality reviews.

To be effective in this role, you will need to possess leadership skills and the ability to line manage and motivate colleagues; confidence in exercising independent professional judgement when making decisions, and the ability to bring your knowledge of industry to our apprenticeship programmes, working with apprentices to support them to progress throughout the apprenticeship on at least one of the apprenticeship standards we deliver.
