The BBC Group Finance team is responsible for producing consolidated reporting for the BBC Group to the various BBC boards, as well as external stakeholders, including OFCOM and DCMS. The Strategic Finance arm of the team provides strategic financial advice, insight and challenge on the most important issues for BBC Public Service. Key activities of the team include the consolidated financial statements, consolidated budget, technical accounting advice and increasingly sustainability reporting.
The nature of the team means that the role will be high profile within the BBC, regularly dealing with senior stakeholders and with colleagues in Group Finance, Strategy, Policy, Commercial and HR. We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Group Finance team. This is a permanent opportunity based in Cardiff with some hybrid working
Main Responsibilities
As the Finance Business Partner in the BBC Group Finance team you will be heavily involved in the delivery of their key outputs (primarily month end, budget and yearend) and have specific focus on;
- Planning and communicating the timetables for the commercial group financial reporting, including being the key liaison in the Group team with the commercial arm of the BBC
- Project managing and delivering on the annual pay related disclosures
- Responsible for the bi-annual reporting of intragroup trading analysis to Ofcom
- Project managing the delivery of BBC subsidiary financial statements
- Working with the senior sustainability manager to enhance the sustainability reporting processes in the BBC and integrate into the regular financial reporting
- The role requires Senior Stakeholder Management including the Group Financial Controller and reporting to the BBC's Executive Committee and BBC Board.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following (Essential):
- Professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Effective interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience of supporting the delivery of effective financial systems and controls
- Experience of working with financial accounting systems and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex financial data to a range of audiences.

Salary: anticipated to fall within the range of £68,000 to £74,000pa, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
