The Role

Based at our processing site in Malton, the purpose of this role is to maximise revenue growth & margin performance through the delivery of innovative and ambitious sales plans.

Working with the Account Director, develop the category via the creation of compelling and clear customer plans that offer a triple win for Sofina, the customer and the end consumer.

This role requires the successful candidate to drive sustainable & competitive volume growth through the creation/delivery of joint business plans, landing exciting consumer centric promotional activity and being relentlessly focused on market outperformance in our key categories.

You will have responsibility for commercial price negotiations and new business generation through annual tenders or insight led product innovation pipelines

Key Accountabilities

To deliver the commercial strategy as directed by the Commercial Director.

To develop new business and new products with the involvement of the operations and technical functions.

To ensure that all appropriate consumer / market lead opportunities are investigated and actioned where applicable.

To deliver results in line with the agreed budget and analyse any deviation and discrepancies together with the implementation of corrective action plans.

To manage customer accounts relationships including regular visits.

To provide the Commercial Director with all appropriate and accurate budget information.

To forecast sales and seasonal circles so as to aid the planning function.

To prepare customer visit reports and maintain accurate account details.

To prepare information for the monthly commercial board packs.

To present and discuss the key accounts at the monthly commercial board meetings.

To manage any direct reports in line with meeting and delivering the demands of existing and potential customers.

To implement training, direction and support of any direct reports to ensure that all business demands are achieved.

Skills and Experience Required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an exceptional understanding of food manufacturing operations and have the ability to show leadership to guarantee industry leadign standards for compliance on behalf of your customer.

A team player – you will demonstrate commercial leadership within our business to ensure our key customers are provided with best in class service, quality and alignment to their trading strategy.

You will ideally have previous experience working within the protein/chilled food sector, directly managing multiple retail customer accounts, however, the candidate is definitely required to be operating in the FMCG food or beverage industry.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished negotiator with high level of financial understanding and business acumen. You must have excellent communication skills and be a proven operator at building strong customer relationships at all levels.
