About us:

The School of Engineering at Bristol UWE is looking to appoint a Senior Mechatronics Teaching Technician to support colleagues within the Mechatronics lab, utilising their broad-based industrial experience. Questions and problems are varied and often challenging, and the technician will be on hand to help students reach a successful conclusion. This is an exciting opportunity to join this enthusiastic team delivering high quality engineering education at UWE. The role will be based in the new School of Engineering building which is located on Frenchay Campus.

About you:

The successful candidate will need prior experience of delivering instruction and training to novice users of workshop/test equipment and have experience of proactively taking responsibility for critical safety areas.

Ideally you will be experienced in various aspects of digital design, and prototyping with proficiency in software development languages. You would also need to be well-equipped to develop and implement software solutions for mechatronic systems.

This is a full time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.

UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is important for our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based for all of your time.

The University's normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
