Job Description

About this job:

Reporting to the Head of Marine & Upstream Energy Treaty your responsibilities will be to:
  • Handle results-oriented underwriting by building-up, developing and monitoring a technically sound and profitable portfolio, this includes pricing in co-ordination with Pricing Actuaries and ensuring that all underwriting actions and decisions are properly documented.
  • Acquire and maintain new profitable business in the respective business lines
  • Support and foster a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity and solution-oriented decision making.
  • Provide a market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers.
  • Represent PartnerRe at market events, organize seminars, underwriting file reviews and workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
  • Support portfolio management and ensure exposure and risk accumulations according to the particularities of the line of business.
  • Interact effectively with other UW teams and Actuarial, Global Accounts, Claims, Reserving, Technical Accounting, Legal & Compliance and Underwriting Office
  • Handle administrative task, such as review contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio, etc.
  • Analysis and monitoring of market trends, economic and legal developments and assess its impact on the Lines of Business & business development.
  • Special tasks and projects as requested.
Qualifications

About you:
  • A minimum of 6 years+ underwriting or broking experience in the reinsurance Marine &/or Upstream market
  • Engagement with major clients and brokers to represent and develop the PartnerRe brand
  • Portfolio management and optimization experience with demonstrated ability to manage a profitable portfolio
  • Strong understanding of market trends, and application of such to identifying improvement opportunities
  • Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment
  • Solid commercial, negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver on defined targets and goals
  • Treaty pricing and reinsurance structuring; experience in the primary insurance or fac market is an advantage
  • Self motivated attitude working within the team
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Salesforce
  • Other languages such as French, German, Spanish would be advantageous
  • Adaptable, open for new ideas and technology
  • Readiness for travel
