About Us

Since our launch in 2015, with the generous support of the LEGO Foundation, we've produced a range of high-quality research and supported policy makers and practitioners to drive change for children.

Now, thanks to new funding, we are expanding our communications and impact-focussed our activity. Our new Communications Coordinator will be pivotal in the next phase of our work.

The Role

As the Communications Coordinator you will:

  • Manage and develop our website and social media presence to optimise engagement with audiences in academia, policy and practice.
  • Communicate our research in an authoritative and accessible ways so that academic and other research audiences use, build on and amplify our findings.
  • Use communications to equip policy makers, service providers and professionals with information and insights that will help them to improve children's lives and life chances.
  • Support colleagues to engage meaningfully with a range of stakeholders.
  • Build our brand as a "go-to" place for world-leading research and expertise about play, development and learning in early childhood.

About this role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications professional who can shape and deliver digital communications and marketing strategies to broaden our reach and influence.

You will ensure that we have an up-to-date, high-quality and an impactful social media presence, which are mobilising knowledge from research to reach key audiences, particularly those working in policy and practice.

As a skilled copy writer and editor, with a good eye for design, you will support colleagues in PEDAL to produce a range of high-quality content for use across a range of channels.

A commitment to continuous improvement is important, and you will be required to monitor and report on our communications activity, capturing qualitative and quantitative information about our reach and impact and using this to drive progress.

Benefits

This is a full-time role, but we are willing to discuss part-time and flexible working options.

We ask that you come into the office on a Wednesday. Beyond that, your working patterns and location can be agreed with your line manager.
