Join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer in Farnborough


We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of the leading companies in defence and aerospace technology.


Our Farnborough-based client is seeking someone who has expertise not only in mechanical design but also machining, fabrication, GD&T and DFM.

Key responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer

Develop new products from concept through production using SolidWorks or similar software
Create detailed engineering drawings utilizing BS8888 standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and project managers
Support prototype builds by working closely with suppliers during the manufacturing process

Qualifications & Skills Required for Mechanical Design Engineer Role:

Mechanical Engineering Degree - The ideal candidate should have a degree-level education within this field.
BS888- Experience working on projects that require adherence to British Standards Institution technical product documentation criteria would be advantageous.
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing) - Ability to read/interpret complex engineering blueprints/drawings/specification documents; experience applying geometric dimensioning tolerances required.

DFM (Design For Manufacturability) - Must possess knowledge of how designs affect manufacturability processes such as assembly methods/materials/tolerance stacks/packaging requirements/etc., so that optimal cost-effective solutions can be achieved efficiently.

NPD (New Product Development)- Familiarity managing early-stage development activities throughout all phases of New Product Introduction will benefit any potential candidates' application favourably.

Salary & Benefits:
